After School Club

Care for children while parents work.

This year we have had many new outings and activities implemented within our program of activities for children.

Highbury Roundhouse has developed greatly in the past 2 years. We now operate three After School clubs.

Two of these are off-site: one at Hanover after School, which also provides a walk-over service from St John of Evangelist Primary School, and another club at St. Joan of Arc Primary School where Highbury Roundhouse manages the Extended School Services.

Highbury Roundhouse also runs an on-site provision at the centre.

The success of our club is due to the wide and varied programme of activities we provide for the children. Parents feel confident that their children are being safely cared for and stimulated with both play and educational activities.

Children are also able to participate in classes and projects such as Indian cultural dancing through attending the After School Clubs.

Our on-site provision is open to children from schools around the area and is open from 3:30 to 6:00 pm during term time only.

We aim to offer a full range of activities on and off site in a safe and welcoming environment. We aim to build confidence, self esteem and self worth by introducing new skills and building on existing ones. Children can develop their full potential by being part of our lively project.

The children are provided with a healthy snack or a hot meal. Meals are prepared by our resident cook, and the menu is wide and diverse. The children love dining together with their friends, they socialise and encourage each other to try different cultural foods.

The programme of activities is changed weekly through consultation with children and parents, so that children get the full benefits of all our equipment throughout the year.

Parents are provided with copies of our weekly activities and menu for comment and feedback.
